Roast Foundation invests in young entrepreneurs through Togo YMCA and Y Care International

Young entrepreneurs in Togo will benefit from an investment fund launched recently by the Roast Foundation and Y Care International. The fund is to be managed locally by Togo YMCA and is geared towards the ongoing support of entrepreneurial skills training and enterprises development.

Building on experience in training young people for jobs and enterprise, the fund will enable an initial group of five young women to receive intensive enterprise training and support to strengthen their business capabilities. They will also be encouraged to make the best use of their training for the benefit of the community in Katanga slums, Lomé.

The trainees will receive the skills, knowledge and experience relevant to their businesses, followed by 12 months of ongoing support and mentoring. This includes helping the young people to manage relationships with suitable, community-based financial institutions. Always active Togo YMCA, with support from Y Care International, manages the delivery and oversight of the training and support provided by independent local consultants working with YMCA field staff.
